Return to the Beginning.

Next summer, Quest returns to the very beginning in EPOCH: Fire and Stone. Set in a fictionalized and stylized version of the early Stone Age, players will engage in four days of simulated survival and exciting storylines. Divided into small bands and with limited resources, players will cooperatively struggle against a harsh environment — and countless other dangers.

Can your people survive this unforgiving time? Or will they be lost to history? Find out in EPOCH: Fire and Stone!

EPOCH: Fire and Stone is proudly a collaboration between Quest Productions, LLC. and Ye Olde Commons.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will registration begin for the event?
Registration for EPOCH: Fire and Stone will begin in January of 2023 on this website. Payment Plans will be available, and discounts will be available to full bands (10 players).

Are Costumes Included in the Event Fee?
Costumes are not included and players will be asked to supply them themselves. Minor guidelines will be provided on this website regarding costuming at a later date.

Will this game be combat heavy?
The primary focus of this event is collaborative survival. The gathering and proper use of resources will be a main objective, and competition between bands will certainly occur. Combat will have its place — especially in the face of the dangers of the Paleolithic world — but this is not intended to be a PVP game at its core.

We need to survive, but are there other goals for my band?
Each band of players will have unique objectives — assigned by the GM staff — that will be their focus through the weekend. These “Legacy Goals” will act as collaborative win conditions, giving your band purpose and direction throughout the weekend. The success of one band does not necessarily mean the failure of another; There will be instances where separate bands must work both with and against each other to survive and thrive.

Is this Game Based on any specific real-world culture?
EPOCH is meant to be a fictionalized and stylized version of humanity’s earliest days. As such, the geographic placement of the game is deliberately ambiguous and a generalized and customizable version of Paleolithic culture will be presented. Animals and resources — which players will encounter in abundance — will similarly be drawn from any number of geographic regions and periods of time.

An Essential Rule: No Modern Communication
As a key component of this game, players will not be able to verbally, manually, or textually communicate by any modern methods while in character. Much as in the time before modern speech and language, players will have to be creative about how to best communicate vital information.
